The BOD, which stands for Business Optimization Dashboard™, illustrates the many aspects of work in the typical organization. Each level and layer can be defined and understood using the Language of Work Formula. The beauty of the BOD is that it illustrates how we can align work between various levels of work to be in harmony with one another– jobs, for example, are aligned to core processes and teams of workers and managers—all using the Language of Work Formula.
The BOD illustrates that the six words of the Language of Work Formula may be used to clearly define and understand:
Levels of Work
How the Work Is To Be Executed and Managed
Business Unit | What the business wants to be |
Core Processes | How the business will do its core work |
Jobs | Who will do the work and how relative to the processes |
Work Groups/Team | How people will be organized together and managed |
Layers of Work
How the Work is Supported, what Standards, Human Relations, and Financials
Work Support | What the business will provide to support a healthy culture for work execution |
Work Standards | What work standards are to be attained |
Human Relations | Promoting the relations between and among workers and management that support work execution |
Financials | The level of funding to support work execution, support, standards, human relations and expected profit/ROI |
